Go Beyond the Pattern: Discover Our New Library Experience

The mission of Farm & Fiber Knits is to help you connect more deeply with your knitting and the people, animals, and landscapes that create our yarn. We publish new content each week— project features, tutorials, yarn reviews, and more—and we are adding a great new feature to our Library pages to help you find what you need!

The new issue of Farm & Fiber Knits just came out, and with it, 11 new patterns have been added to the Farm & Fiber Knits Library. Each of these new patterns have their own project page, which now links you to additional resources to help you understand more about the project, yarn, designer, technique, and more.

Let me take you, dear reader, on a tour of our new-and-improved Library pages, starting with how to search for the type of project you have in mind.

Start Your Search

From the Farm & Fiber Knits home page, click Patterns on the menu bar at the top of your browser window. You’ll see a drop-down menu where you can select from any of the types of projects listed, or click on All Patterns.

From there, browse the tags in the left-hand column, where you can filter by the type of project, particular technique, yarn weight and yardage, and fiber type.

For example, if I’m looking for a project that uses cables, I can search by Technique.

Now that you’ve found the perfect project to knit, look for additional resources related to that project by clicking on the project listing.

Open up the new Gelso Shawl, for example, and at a glance you’ll see the fiber type, yarn weight and yardage, and technique. Scroll down to learn more about the pattern, and see a list of Materials and Finished Sizes.

See the Resources at the bottom? That’s where you’ll find a link to articles, technique posts, videos, and more that you’ll find helpful as you knit each project. We are constantly adding new content to our website, so you’ll see more resources show up as time goes on.
